Here is another completely passive method that could help you with earning a few bucks. This has been around for a quite some time and is legit!
How does it work?
The concept is pretty simple. You install these applications on your android phone, register, enter your phone number and let them run in the background. From time to time, they will send you SMS and you will get rewarded for receiving it.

One thing that you need is access to the internet because that is how they can confirm that you have received a message.
Just to be clear, you will NOT be paid for every SMS you receive, only for the ones sent by them. Their messages are easy to distinguish because they only send you meaningless words.
Why would they pay for this?
The reason is that a lot of Telecom SMS providers and Mobile Network Operators need to send SMS text messages to foreign countries to verify and ensure the proper delivery of their SMS routes. You get paid because they use your phone number to provide such testing services.
What apps to use?
In the time of writing this post, there are 3 or 4 of these types of apps. But I've been using two and will only mention them:
1. MoneySMS
When it comes to paying per SMS this is the better one, since they offer you 0.02 euro per received SMS. Minimum for withdrawal is 2 euro and they offer PayPal as payment method.

This app also has a referral system put in place. Everyone who enters your referral code will get 0.25 euro after registration and you will get paid 30% from their withdrawals. So you will get 0.60 euro if your referral withdraws a minimum of 2 euro.
Had this app installed 2 months before my first withdrawal? Messages are frequently sent and you can expect at least 1 per day. Many times there will be 3 to 4 messages, and some days you can expect up to 10 of them.

With all this said, i would highly recommend you to install this app and just let it run itself.
This application will pay you $0.009 per SMS that you receive. This is less than the previous one, but it's still good. Minimum for withdrawal is $1 and they offer PayPal as payment method. They do not have a referral system.
I've installed this application 3 months ago, it doesn't send that many messages. So just recently I've made enough to withdraw. I've placed request and payment went through after 7 days.
As far as i know, payment is usually much faster. The day i've placed my request they had some issues and after sorting them out, I've got my payment.
This really is slow earning app, but considering that it's completely passive, i would definitely recommend it.

This really is slow earning app, but considering that it's completely passive, i would definitely recommend it.
Recommendation
These apps are completely passive but require available internet at all times. If you have an old android phone, I would recommend you to buy one spare SIM card and place it on that phone. Then install these applications and just let them run.
Keep the phone connected on the internet at all times and occasionally check for battery life. Don't allow it to run out of battery and turn off, you won't be getting any messages.
